JOB OF THE DAY: Sous Chef/Kitchen Manager

Buenos Aires Cafe is looking for a full-time Sous Chef who will work alongside the executive chef, Reina Morris! In 1997, Reina and her family emigrated from Buenos Aires, Argentina to America. Her native Argentinian background gave her the inspiration to open the cafe located on East 6th Street.
DUTIES OF THE SOUS CHEF
1. The Sous Chef is scheduled for 45- 50 hours in-restaurant, and you may need to put in additional time if you apply;
1 (a) Most of the extra time will be through training to ensure efficient operations;
2. You will assume responsibility to ensure that the kitchen will be up and running for all shifts scheduled;
3. You will oversee and monitor the daily prep lists for all prep, production and line cooks;

4. You will assist with daily prep lists for the restaurant and catering;
5. You will endeavor to execute an effective weekly schedule, with consideration for labor cost and special events;
6.You will be responsible for the management of the prep, production and line crew, and this will include: coaching, counseling, execution, quality, pars, maintenance, and organization of prepped goods.
7. As a Sous Chef you will facilitate the organization and cleanliness of the kitchen;
8.You will be responsible for daily recordings of temperature controlled environments;
9 You will act as lead expediter and ensure that food quality is intact and up to restaurant’s standards
10. As a Kitchen Manager, you will be responsible for the administration of all prep lists, cleaning lists, kitchen checklists; and you will be responsible for facilitating all equipment maintenance and repair;
11. Yo will work in sync with all managers to ensure a good customer service and experience;
12. You will also communicate daily, the availability of items, specials, etc;
13. Sous Chef/Manager will be required to attend all management meetings, and special events as necessary.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
*Bilingual Preferred / Spanish Required
*2 Years Kitchen Experience
*Good Attitude
*Eager to learn and teach
**Experience with cost control, inventory management, creating specials, training.
*Personable, presentable, professional, friendly and confident with client and staff communication
