JOB OF THE DAY: SPECIAL EDUCATION AIDE
ARE YOU GOOD WITH SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN?
Austin Discovery School is needing a Special Education Aide. If you are hired, you will be working primarily with student(s) who are: severely to profoundly limited in their ability to perform
independently in terms of basic motor, sensory, cognitive and/or behavior function.
Ultimately, you will become the students Personal Care Giver. The jobs duties entail clerical work, the ability to be support the classroom teacher with management and instructions. Can you do? Not to worry, your performance will be supervised by special education teacher in case you need any help. According to Austin Discovery School, as an aide, there will be circumstances when you will need to independently carry out particular aspects of the instructional program which include activities outside the normal school facility.

- To be the perfect candidate you must possess and/or develop and maintain: an empathetic attitude toward Special Education students; work cooperatively with others in a positive manner; willing to learn specialized instructional/management techniques with Special Education students, as needed; willing to seek and maintain CPR certification; ability to communicate and develop effective working relationships with students, parents, and staff while maintaining confidentiality.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred High School/Trade School degree preferred;
- Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required
